The CW Television Network (commonly referred to as The CW) is an American English-language free-to-air television network operated by The CW Network, LLC, a joint venture between the CBS Entertainment Group unit of ViacomCBS; and the Studios and Networks division of AT&T's WarnerMedia, the parent company of Warner Bros. The network's name is an abbreviation derived from the first letters of the names of its two parent corporations (CBS and Warner Media).

The CW provides video on demand access for delayed viewing of full episodes of the network's programming through various means, including via its website at CWTV.com and its mobile app for iOS and Android devices (with programs streamable over Wi-Fi and cellular networks), a traditional VOD service – called The CW on Demand – that is available on most traditional cable and IPTV providers, and through content deals with Hulu, iTunes and Netflix.

The service offers a wide range of shows such as like Nikita, Arrow, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, The Originals, Reign, and Hart of Dixie and many other titles. The CW is freely available on numerous operating systems and devices. Apart from web browser access via the CW website, the service can also be streamed with The CW apps on Smart TVs, Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV, Xbox One, Amazon Fire TV as well as iOS and Android mobile devices.

The only problem connected with The CW is the fact that the service is geo-located and can only be available in geographically restricted area.

How to watch The CW outside the US using Smart DNS

Geo-restricted services actively block your access if you try to stream their content from outside eligible area (for example when you travel abroad either on holiday or business). The technology works by detecting your IP and finding your physical location. The problem can be solved by taking the part of your Internet traffic which is responsible for revealing your location via a dedicated server. This is exactly what Getflix Smart DNS does.

The first thing that you need to do is sign up with Getflix for a 14-day free trial and register your IP in our system. Next, configure your device to work with Smart DNS in order to be able to stream The CW outside the US. It is simple and does not require any extra software, knowledge or expenses. There’s a setup guide section with detailed instructions on how to configure Smart DNS on various systems and devices. You can also set up your home router if you want all the devices in your home network to access geo-restricted services, including The CW. The list of such services supported by Getflix can be found here.

If, at any point, you run into any problems with configuration process, please contact us for help or visit our Knowledge Base to look for possible solutions. Our support is always happy to help you out if you need any assistance.

Stream The CW content with Getflix Smart VPN

There is an alternative solution to overcome the geo-restriction problem. Smart VPN is a state-of-the-art solution for those who would like to watch geo-restricted content and remain safe and anonymous online. VPN is an encrypted, virtual tunnel which takes your traffic directly to the server located in the country of destination (USA in the case of The CW) and makes it possible to access any American geo-located service).

Smart VPN combines the speed of Smart DNS and security of VPN making it a great solution for those who travel abroad and need to use open, unprotected Wi-Fi spots to access their private or business email account or banking app. Become our regular subscriber and use both solution to watch The CW outside the US and many other geo-restricted services.
